Combined Men’s Choir

This year we are excited to introduce the S.O.T.C. Combined Men’s Choir! Our goal is to have men and boys participate in this choir from every Church that comes. The choir loft will easily accommodate over 200 men so there’s room for everyone!

Choir performance selections for this year are, “We are more than Conquerors” and an old hymn of the faith first published in 1749 entitled “Soldiers of Christ, Arise”. “We are more than conquerors” will be sung in unison and “Soldiers of Christ, Arise” will be sung in four-part harmony.

Click, hear and practice your part so you can be ready to sing before you arrive at Soldiers of the Cross. The lyrics for each choir song are printed below and they can be printed from the “Downloads” page on this web site.

All Parts, Bass, Tenor, Alto, Melody

Soldiers of Christ, arise, and put your armor on,
Strong in the strength which God supplies through His eternal Son,
Strong in the Lord of Hosts, and in His mighty pow’r,
Who in the strength of Jesus trust is more than conqueror.

Stand, then, in His great might, with all his strength endued;
And take, to arm you for the fight, The panoply of God!
That, having all things done, and all your conflicts past,
Ye may o’er-come, thro’ Christ alone, and stand entire at last.

Leave no unguarded place, No weakness of the soul,
Take every virtue, every grace, and fortify the whole.
From strength to strength go on; wrestle, and fight, and pray;
Tread all the powers of darkness down, and win the well-fought day!

We Are More than Conquerors

We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us so.
The Christ Who dwells within us is the greatest power we know.
He will fight beside us though the enemy is great.
Who can stand against us? He’s the captain of our fate.
Then we will conquer, never fear; so let the battle rage.
He has promised to be near until the end of the age.
We are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us so.
The Christ Who dwells within us is the greatest power we know.
